He may leap off before the cloud duration expires, dealing damage to enemies. The decoy has all of Sun Wukong's current stats, but only 50% of his physical power. If the decoy dies before it's timer expires, Sun Wukong becomes visible on his cloud. Leap Damage: 140/190/240/290/340. Cost: 100. Cooldown: 90s
In this Bonus Update we will be nerfing a lot of the top SPL picks in every role. Junglers had their items nerfed instead, but every other class will be seeing nerfs to the top 2 gods. Sun Wukong has steadily risen in performance throughout the year due to some direct buffs and meta shifts. He can dish out a lot of damage while also being extremely evasive for a Warrior. We are taking down the top-end damage on his ult to bring him in line with the rest of the class.
Somersault Cloud
Decreased Physical Power Scaling from 120% to 100%
The Monkey King has seen a few flickers of strength this Season, but they are usually short lived. Wukong focuses on lane bullying in the early game and then being exceedingly mobile in the late game. To help his core gameplay without pushing him over the top, he is seeing two buffs. First we are adding some quality of life buffs to make sure his passive is effective. Next we are making 72 Transformations more of a 1 point wonder, allowing him to invest in Master's Will and keep up the pressure.
Undefeated Body
Increased % HP where his passive triggers from 40% to 50%.
Increased the duration of his passive self buff if he heals above 50% HP from 10s to 12s.
72 Transformations
Increased Tiger Stun from 1/1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4s to 1.4s at all ranks.
Everyone loves a good Sun Wukong buff. This Warrior is mobile and evasive, but struggles to make an impact on larger team fights. Master's Will is gaining a new component and will now slow the attack speed of enemies hit by it. We are also increasing the damage Somersault Cloud deals, as it was much lower than most Warrior ultimates. These two changes should encourage Sun Wukong to fight to the bitter end of each engagement.
Master's Will
This ability now applies an attack speed slow along with the movement speed slow.
Somersault Cloud
Increased Damage from 200/250/300/350/400 to 200/275/350/425/500.
The Monkey King returns in this update! Sun Wukong excels at poking enemies and being evasive, but he has lacked the power to compete in today's solo lane meta. His passive kind of conflicts with his Ultimate, causing him to lose his own buff. This will no longer be the case. Sun Wukong will now be encouraged to dive back into the fight after ulting, where he will be able to continue enjoying the benefits of his passive as well as increased damage on Master's Will.
Undefeated Body
This effect now persists for 10s after gaining health above the threshold.
Master's Will
Increased base damage 90/140/190/240/290 to 90/145/200/255/310.
Sun Wukong has traditionally cycled between oppressing the Meta or not being relevant to it. Looking back on previous changes we want to bring some strengths to his kit without overdoing it. The Magic Cudgel is getting a slight boost to its overall clear strength.
The Magic Cudgel
Increased Bonus Damage to Minions and Jungle Camps from 25% to 30%.
Master's Will
Decreased Cooldown from 12s to 10s.
72 Transformations
Increased Damage of Ox form 50/90/130/170/210 to 70/105/140/175/210.
The Monkey King was a force to be reckoned with in early Season 4. After a few cooldown nerfs he quickly fell out of favor. His Magic Cudgel has become quite underwhelming with the loss of Bluestone Pendant and with conquest minions becoming harder to kill. We are increasing the base damage on this (and thus the damage to minions) as well as reducing the mana cost to make SWK able to stand up to the common solo lane opponents.
The Magic Cudgel
Increase base damage from 80/120/160/200/240 to 90/130/170/210/250.
Decreased mana cost from 50/60/70/80/90 to 50/55/60/65/70.
Sun Wukong's strength comes from his ability to harass and trade often with little fear of retaliation, especially with a tanky cooldown reduction item like Breastplate of Valor. Magic Cudgel and Master's Will are both seeing Cooldown increases which will limit Sun Wukong's ability to constantly pressure his opponents. Sun Wukong will now need to be more careful of when to use these abilities during a fight.
The Monkey King has long been a solid pick, but didn't bring enough to the table to finish out a game. We are increasing the Physical Power scaling he gets on two of his core abilities. Similar to the changes we made to Osiris in 4.3 , this should open up Sun Wukong's build paths and allow him to be more effective during the mid and late stages of the game.
Sun Wukong has hit the gym and is ready to show off his new Undefeated Body. Instead of providing Critical Strike chance, while at low Health, Sun Wukong receives raw Physical Power, allowing him to better fight at low Health. Additionally, Somersault Cloud has increased Base Damage, allowing players who sacrifice the healing from the ultimate to use it more aggressively.
Undefeated Body
Increased Health Threshold for the effect from 35% -> 40%.
No longer grants Critical Strike chance.
Now provides 10 Physical Power + 2 Physical Power per Level.
Somersault Cloud
Damage increased from 140/190/240/290/340 -> 200/250/300/350/400.
Sun Wukong was struggling to box efficiently in the very early stages of the game. By bring his base health up slightly we should see him more capable of standing toe to toe with his lane opponents.
Sun Wukong is often seen as a bully in lane, having strong poke power and wave clear. These changes should reduce his ability to take return fire, while increasing the cost of pushing during the laning phase.
Reduced starting Health from 480 -> 450.
The Magic Cudgel
Increased Mana cost from 50/55/60/65/70 -> 50/60/70/80/90.
Fixed an issue where Sun Wukong would be rooted after using Somersault Cloud.
Fixed an issue where using tier 3 of Purification Beads was completely resetting the cooldown on 72 Transformations.
Fixed an issue where Minotaur stops attacking Sun Wukong's decoy during his ultimate and instead remains focused on the invulnerable Sun Wukong on the cloud.
Fixed an issue where Sun Wukong's decoy would appears as Sun Wukong Decoy when using the game configuration option to “Show God Names”.
Fixed an issue where killing Sun Wukong's Decoy would count towards god kill stacks.
