After 5 successful basic attacks, the next ability Chaac uses costs no mana.

Torrent

It’s time to move like a Jaguar! When Chaac brings down the Thunder he will now be a force to be reckoned with. Late game he can struggle to fill that frontline bruiser role, but with up to 70% Mitigation he can tactfully use it to avoid major bursts before bringing the AoE silence.
Storm Call
Increased Damage Mitigation Chaac gains while Channeling from 50% at all ranks to 50/55/60/65/70%
What do you give the god who seemingly has it all but can’t quite break into the meta? When looking at Chaac’s kit on paper we see strong damage output, self sustain, debuffing zone control, and impactful CC. Chaac is already putting up some decent casual stats so we are being measured with our buffs. In this pass we are making the self buff aspect of his Torrent much more relevant. Many players overlook this feature of his kit entirely, and this should help him stay alive in extended fights. We will be keeping a close eye on this god as we see constant community outcry for him to make more competitive appearances.
Torrent
Increased Protection Buff Duration from 4s to 6s
Hitting a god with Torrent now provides 2 Protection Buff stacks
Chaac makes it rain already, but he is about to bring down the Thunder as well. Chaac feels like a Jack of All Trades, master of none warrior. He brings sustain, control, pressure, but even for a Jack of All Trades his damage pressure feels lacking. Thunder Strike will gain some additional scaling to help him out.
Everyone's favorite voice pack can be a solid god pick, but never quite a top pick. Mid Season 7 is no different for Chaac. Rain Dance brings unique area control, attack speed debuffs, and self sustain, but its cooldown made it very restrictive. A lower cooldown opens up additional options.
SMITE's premier Mayan action hero has been struggling lately. Chaac is well known as a consistent solo laner, but never a true playmaker. We are making one quite significant change to Chaac's Ultimate to make sure his team fight impact is meaningful. Enemies will have a much harder time fleeing from him with Storm Call knocking enemies straight up.
Torrent
Decreased Cooldown from 15s to 13s.
Storm Call
The knockback from this effect now knocks enemy players straight up.
Chaac's passive is useful, but a little underwhelming with less use cases as the game progresses into its later stages. Overflow will now also reduced the triggering abilities cooldown by 2 seconds in addition to reducing its mana cost. Chaac players will need to consider what to consume Overflow on and will be better rewarded for managing it well.
Overflow
In addition to allowing the next ability cast to cost 0 mana when fully stacks, whatever ability is fired to consume the stacks has its cooldown reduced by 2s.
Chaac's receiving a mixture of Quality of Life adjustments, fixes, and changes to how his abilities work, all aimed at making him more consistent and freeing up his utility when it comes to using his Ultimate. Torrent will no longer occasionally miss targets it should have connected with and has had its interaction with cripple changed.
Storm Call is also seeing its interaction with Thunder Strike removed in favor of getting a power boost. The interaction with Thunder Strike was often difficult to set up and removed Chaac's strong ability to initiate with Torrent of zone with Rain Dance.
Torrent
Chaac can now use this ability while crippled, but only if no axe is deployed.
Adjusted the tech of this ability to allow it to always hit enemies who are in the range of the spin.
Storm Call
Removed the conditional bonus damage and knockup when picking up the axe on activation. Storm Call no longer interacts with a deployed axe.
Storm Call will now always Knockup enemies.
Base Damage Increased from 200/250/300/350/400 -> 250/300/350/400/450.
Physical Power Scaling Increased from 100% -> 120%.
Chaac is receiving some additional love to help him compete more directly with other Warriors. An increase to his slow, as well as making his Ultimate more punchy, especially in the early game, should allow him to more regularly box and secure kills on his enemies.
Rain Dance
Increased Slow from 15/20/25/30/35% to 20/25/30/35/40%.
Storm Call
Increased base damage from 150/200/250/300/350 to 200/250/300/350/400.
When the axe lands, it no longer spawns seeking projectiles towards each victim in the damage radius. Instead it now directly damages the victims immediately. This change helps with the confusion some players were having when being hit on a delay various edge-cases.
