Hade's normal staff attacks apply a debuff to the enemy, called Blight. This debuff stats on the target for 5 seconds and can be refreshed. If an enemy is affected by blight, each of Hades' other powers have an additional effect.
Death From Below
Hades descends into the ground and erupts from below at his ground location, doing 30/50/70/90/110 (+70% of your magical power) magical damage to all enemies in the area. If the enemy is Blighted, they are slowed by 25/30/35/40/45% for 2 seconds. Applies blight. Cost - 50/55/60/65/70 mana. Cooldown - 12s.
Shroud of Darkness
Hades silences all enemies in a cone in front of him for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2s. If the enemy is Blighted, they are also feared. Consumes Blight. Cost - 80 mana. Cooldown - 15/14/13/12/11s.
Devour Souls
Hades devours the souls of his enemies in a radius around him, doing 50/75/100/125/150 (+60% of your magical power) magical damage. If the enemy is Blighted, the enemy explodes, doing up to 20 damage to nearby enemies and healing your allies for 30/40/50/60/70 within 20 feet of the exploding target. Cost 65/75/85/95/105 Mana. Cooldown - 15/14/13/12/11s.
Pillar of Agony
Hades calls to all enemy souls nearby, pulling them closer to him over time, doing 50/65/80/95/110 (+35% of your magical power) magical damage every .5s for 4s, additionally gaining 40/50/60/70/80 protection to all damage. If the enemy is blighted, their protections are reduced by 10/15/20/25/30. Consumes Blight. Cost - 100 mana. Cooldown - 90s.
Hades' realm is the unique space between Mage and Guardian. He deals large amounts of burst damage but he has to be very close to enemies to do it. This creates a risky play style that is often punished at high levels of play. We are making Hades even tankier through his base HP adjustment, putting these stats into a unique area truly tankier than any mage, but not quite a guardian. He is also gaining the long awaited damage mitigation while firing his ultimate. He already gains a massive amount of protections so this number is starting off small and should be quite effective. As they say: why not both?
Increased base HP from 450 to 475.
Increased HP per level from 80 to 85.
Pillar of Agony
This ability now provides Hades 10% Damage Mitigation at all ranks in addition to the Protections he gains.
Hades is a god who has undergone a larger identity shift over the years. Previously a Guardian, today he plays as a Point Blank AoE Mage with high damage potential with high tradeoffs,
but older stats that made sense back then currently hold him back from accomplishing this.
We are increasing Hades' base movement speed to better facilitate his close range damage. Pillar of Agony will also be buffed, specifically by increasing the Protections Hades receives while firing the ability. These two changes should help bring together Hades' entire kit, allowing him to build more damage but still survive team fights.
Increased Movement Speed from 355 to 365.
Pillar of Agony
Increased Protections from 60/70/80/90/100 to 60/85/110/135/160.
Hades has undergone a large amount of reworks, and through those one major thing has changed. Blight is no longer removed. Previously we hesitated on placing any debuff on Blight as it was removed by his abilities. This could lead to situations where you don't want to use his cool abilities and blight interaction in fear of removing it. With that changed we can now place a debuff on Blight. As a point blank AoE mage, reducing the targets ability to deal damage back is a big boon to his overall survivability and what he can bring to a tank.
Blight
Now has a debuff effect that lowers the targets Magical or Physical Power by 5%.
After a few Hades changes, Devour Souls was the only ability that still consumed blight. This resulted in a few situations that felt clunky. This ability will no longer consume blight, allowing Hades players to combo more smoothly and continue to fight after using Devour Souls. Additionally, the cooldown of this ability is being significantly decreased for Hades' early game, giving him access to clear comparable to other mid laners.
Devour Souls
No longer consumes Blight.
This ability will still detonate and heal Hades if the target had Blight applied.
Decreased Cooldown from 15/14/13/12/11 to 11s at all ranks.
Hades has been sending many players to the underworld since his buffs and fixes in 4.6. Since then, he has rocketed towards being the top pick in casuals and making a strong standing at the highest levels of play. His new identity as a close range burst Mage is one we want to keep moving forward, and as such he is not receiving any damage nerfs.
Instead, we are focusing on his ability to engage and disengage fights, while slightly increasing the utility he can bring to a team. Death from Below will be on a longer Cooldown and will need to be used more carefully, while Devour Souls is seeing a Magical Power scaling decrease, lowering the amount of Healing he has at later stages of the game.
Shroud of Darkness is seeing a slight Cooldown reduction to give him more utility and potential answers when he cannot escape or engage with Death from Below.
Death From Below
Increased Cooldown from 12s -> 14s.
Shroud of Darkness
Decreased Cooldown from 15/14/13/12/11 -> 14/13/12/11/10s.
Devour Souls
Decreased Magical Power Scaling on the Detonate Heal from 15% -> 10%.
The King of the Underworld has had a long history in SMITE and with this patch we aim to solidify his identity while cleaning up his mechanics to be more intuitive. To better serve his Mage title, we are looking to increase his Damage significantly (especially his single target) at the cost of some of his previous Guardian Stats.
Previously, Devour Souls only did it's Detonate Damage to targets around the Detonated target and not the actual Blighted target itself. Devour Souls will now deal it's Detonate Damage to that target as well, providing an additional 20/27/34/41/48 (+50% Magical Power) in these scenarios.
This combined with Death from Below now dealing respectable damage will make Hades have much more burst. Pillar Of Agony is also seeing a buff to its Protections allowing Hades to scale into the late game and to make up for some of the base stat reductions Hades is seeing.
Additionally Pillar of Agony will now reduce a Blighted target's Magical Protection before the first tick of damage and will no longer consume that Blight, giving Hades more options once his ultimate ends.
Reduced Physical Protection scaling from 3.2 -> 2.6.
Reduced Base Health from 490 -> 450.
Increased Base Attack Speed from .87 -> .95.
Death From Below
Increased Damage from 50/85/120/155/190 -> 70/120/170/220/270.
Shroud of Darkness
Reduced Mana cost from 80 -> 60.
Devour Souls
This ability now deals Detonate Damage to the Target being Detonated.
Reduced Mana cost from 65/75/85/95/105 -> 60/65/70/75/80.
Added new FX to show the radius of the Detonate from the affected Targets.
Added new FX to show the radius during the warm up.
Pillar of Agony
Increased Protections from 60/65/70/75/80 -> 60/70/80/90/100.
Pillar of Agony no longer consumes Blight.
Blighted Targets will now have their Magical Protections reduced before taking the first tick of damage.
Hades has been a popular point of discussion recently and has been a character we have watched for a long time. Overall, his performance is solid (and sometimes very strong) but we felt there were a few things we could change to help the King of the Underworld. Blight now lasts longer and Shroud of Darkness no longer knocks back minions. These two changes should remove some of the frustrating situations that can happen during the laning phase. Additionally, Pillar of Agony now provides more protections making burning Hades down in his Ultimate, a less viable strategy unless there is a significant source of damage on him.
Blight
Duration increased from 5s -> 8s.
Shroud of Darkness
No longer Knocks Back Minions.
Pillar of Agony
Increased Protection buff from 40/50/60/70/80 -> 60/65/70/75/80.
Damage reduced from 50/90/130/170/210 +70% to 50/85/120/155/190 + 60%.
Shroud of Darkness
This ability now applies Blight to targets it hits.
Now no longer applies the Silence to Blighted targets that are Feared. This fixes an issue with diminishing returns where the second effect applied was always having its duration reduced.
Devour Souls
Damage increased from 75/110/145/180/215 +60% to 75/115/155/195/235 +70%.
