  • Passive - Pomegranate Seeds

  • Persephone gains Pomegranate Seeds when her Harvest plants wither. If she has more than 25 Seeds she can spend these to resist death, continuing to fight for 8s but dealing 50% reduced damage. Additional Seeds are sold when she enters the fountain for 3 gold a Seed. Persephone can hold 100 Seeds. Basic Attack: Persephone's Basic Attacks have an AoE upon hitting a target that activates nearby Harvest Plants. *Radius: 7.5
  • Bone Rush

  • Persephone calls forth a skeletal warrior of the underworld. This warrior charges forward 35 units or until it comes into contact with a god. It charges with such force that when it stops it topples, sending bones flying forward and damaging enemies in its path. The skull from this warrior flies forward and becomes a Harvest Skull when it lands. *Damage: 100/160/220/280/340 (+80% of your Magical Power) *Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 *Cooldown: 12s
  • Harvest

  • Persephone places a Skull on the ground (max 10) and activates them with Basic Attacks. She stores up to 6 Skulls. When activated it heals Persephone. After 4s it turns into a Sprout that explodes, damaging and slowing enemies. After 24s it turns into a Flower that chases down enemies for 3s before biting them. Enemies recently hit by Harvest take reduced damage from additional hits stacking 3 times. After activation or 120s they wither. *Heal: 22/29/36/43/50 (+10% of your Magical Power) *Explosion: 60/110/160/210/260 (+70% of your Magical Power) *Slow: 30% *Bite: 70/125/180/235/290 (+80% of your Magical Power) *Reduced Damage: 50/75/87.5% *Cost: 18/21/24/27/30 *Cooldown: 8s
  • Flourish

  • Persephone floods the ground around her with life giving energy that propels her from the ground directly forwards or backwards; based on the direction she is moving. Harvest plants inside the area immediately grow to their next stage and activate. After using this ability the next Harvest cast is pre-germinated and spawns as a Sprout. *Range: 45 *Cost: 70 *Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11s
  • Grasp of Death

  • Persephone conjures a mass of Entrapping Vines that she throws forwards, Entrapping the first enemy god or wall it touches. Entrapped gods are crippled, rooted, and have reduced Attack Speed. Binding Vines then spawn from the Entrapped target that seek nearby enemy gods. Upon finding an enemy god it Binds them, crippling them and preventing them from moving away. Entrapping Vines are destroyed if hit by 5 Basic Attacks, ending all effects. *Damage: 195/270/345/420/495 (+75% of your Magical Power) *Vine Damage: 65/90/115/140/165 (+30% of your Magical power) *Attack Speed Reduction: 20/22.5/25/27.5/30% *Duration: 5s *Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 *Cooldown: 90s

General

  • Persephone has brought a lot of unique gameplay to SMITE, but unique can quickly become paired with frustration. Her garden has high highs and low lows, her ability to revive and damage enemies can turn getting a kill into despair, and her ult is often powerful even when it misses. For SWC we want to reduce this final point, softly addressing a point of frustration for the World stage. Going forward we may look towards larger adjustments to Persephone, tackling all the points of frustration listed above.

Grasp of Death Grasp of Death

  • Decrease ult deployable HP from 5 to 3 if it hits a wall instead of a player

General

  • The Queen of the Underworld has continued to be a somewhat controversial goddess. Persephone is one of the weakest gods in the game at most skill levels, but at high ranks and competitive tiers she is considered exceedingly powerful. We will be looking into more changes for Persephone in the future, but for now we are looking to mitigate frustration factors. Her AoE Damage and Slow are both being nerfed, causing Persephone to rely more on her unique utility features that require more intense changes to address. (Change or feature implemented based on feedback and discussion with The Olympians)

Harvest Harvest

  • Decreased Magical Power Scaling Dmg from 75% to 65%.
  • Decreased Harvest Slow from 30% to 20%.

General

  • Persephone continues to be a top ban in ranked Conquest. Her win rate stats tend to skew toward the lower end, generally because of her unique game mechanics that can be inconsistent or difficult to master. In cases like these we try to aim for nerfs toward specific frustration points or high level strategies. We hope to decrease the feeling of needing her on a team, without taking her already low performance stats to unplayable levels. This nerf focuses on her life-after-death passive, which has extremely strong applications in specific scenarios. Olympians pathnotes.png

Pomegranate Seeds Pomegranate Seeds

  • Decreased the amount of Damage Persephone Does while in her Undead State from 50% to 40%.
  • (7.6) Persphone is now slowed by 20% for the duration of this effect.
  • This specific change will occur when the full Cthulhu Patch (7.6) goes live. It requires additional support that cannot be done through normal Bonus Balance.

Pomegranate Seeds Pomegranate Seeds

  • Fixed an issue where she could be targeted in her passive death state.

Harvest Harvest

  • Fixed an issue where plant AoE damage reduction on subsequent hits was not working as intended.

General

  • Persephone is a unique balance case, touting quite high pick/ban and win rates at high MMR, and some of the worst stats in the game everywhere else. Because of this we applied a shift last update to make Persephone’s Harvest ability slightly more usable for your average player, paired with multiple nerfs. Players were concerned that those changes buffed her when she did not need buffs due to her pro level performance. We want to keep the usability changes but agree with nerfing her at pro play, so we are adding another strong nerf this update.

Grasp of Death Grasp of Death

  • Decreased projectile speed from 150 to 120

General

  • In 7.3 we adjusted Persephone with the goal of shifting her strength, not directly buffing her. From feedback we see the concern that the improved functionality of Harvest and the faster Flowers were not offset by the Ultimate changes. We are including some additional nerfs to Harvest’s scaling and one more nerf to her Ultimate’s base damage. Persephone and her Harvest ability will feel better to play with in 7.3 but won’t necessarily be stronger as a whole.
  • Persephone is getting a sweeping list of changes to allow her players to better show their skill with Harvest while reducing her ultimate ability’s effectiveness when blindly thrown at an enemy team. Harvest will see a reduction in mechanical clunk and a quicker growth time. Additionally her Harvest Flower will now run the same distance but in a shorter time, giving opponents a smaller window to juke the plants bite. Finally, her Ultimate will now be more escapable when trapped alone and will take longer to grab onto enemies as they try to flee its grasp.

Harvest Harvest

  • Decreased prefire time on this ability from .2s to .1s.
  • Decreased minimum distance between Harvest placements from 5 units to 2.5 units.
  • Sprout
  • Decreased time the base Harvest plant takes to evolve into a sprout from 4s to 2.5s
  • Flower
  • Decreased time the base Harvest plant takes to evolve into a flower from 24s to 16s.
  • Decreased chase time from 3s to 2.2s.
  • Increased movement speed from 440 to 600.
  • Sprout
  • Decreased Magical Power Scaling from 80 to 75%.
  • Flower
  • Decreased Magical Power Scaling from 90 to 85%.

Grasp of Death Grasp of Death

  • Decreased speed at which a tether will reach to grab you by 50%.
  • Decreased Attack Speed penalty from 20/22.5/25/27.5/30% to 15% at all ranks.
  • Decreased Base Damage from 195/270/345/420/495 to 175/245/315/385/455.

General

  • Fixed an issue where her Ultimate would sometimes fail to Bind” enemies even when they were in the affected radius.
  • Fixed an issue where Death Recaps from some of Persephone's abilities were showing unintended text.

General

  • Fixed an issue where her passive meter would skip numbers sometimes.

General

  • Fixed an issue where the flower form of her plants were not hitting in the intended cone area.
  • Persephone will behave in a similar way as Khumba. If she is executed she will not revive from her passive, and her seeds/cooldown for that passive will not be consumed.
  • Currently Persephone is still displaying execute FX even though she cannot be executed. This is still being updated. Intended behavior is for Persephone not to have any execute FX on her or be executable when he is already in his passive state.

General

  • This update continues with a series of changes to Persephone. Many of these changes are to address player feedback on her clarity concerns or bug fixes, but there are important balance changes too. Persephone has had relatively low win rate in all normal modes, but she is hotly contested in the pro league. She is seeing some adjustments here to make her performance more consistent. She will now be limited to a much smaller number of plants in the early game and Bone Rush will now have a slower and more clearly telegraphed hit area.
  • Grasp of Death
  • Fixed an issue where if a player activated the Beads Relic when hit by the cage, the player would be unable to damage the cage afterwards.
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in CC Immunity not cleansing the vine grasp.

Pomegranate Seeds Pomegranate Seeds

  • Persephone's Harvest plants now deal 50% damage while in her revived state to match Persephone's damage reduction.
  • Persephone now gains 100% of her Mana back when entering her death state.
  • Added a brief lockout so players cannot accidentally cancel reviving themselves.

Bone Rush Bone Rush

  • The damage area of Bone Rush is now a rolling line attack.
  • This means players close to the explosion are hit earlier than those far away.
  • Added an intro sound to give players better feedback this ability has been cast.
  • The damage area of Bone Rush now displays a warning targeter.

Harvest Harvest

  • Harvest's max count has been decreased from 10 at all levels to 6/6/8/8/10.
  • Harvest now displays a buff bar counter to indicate how many Harvest plants are active.
  • Added a new minimap icon for Persephone's Harvest plants.
  • Increased Harvest Explosion scaling from 75% to 80%.
  • Increased Harvest Bite scaling from 85% to 90%.
  • Decreased subsequent damage reduction from 50/75/87.5 to 40/65/78%.

General

  • Persphone's power level is still being hotly debated in the community. Our stats show her closer to the bottom end of the gods rather than the top end. We know she has a steep learning curve and excels at certain stages of the game so we won't be rushing to buff her. In this patch we focus on a series of bug fixes and quality of life adjustments instead. Once players are having a more clear experience with Persephone we can look more into her balance metrics.
  • Fixed an issue where she was not properly leveling up while using auto skill.
  • Fixed an issue with her death animation displaying a skeleton at a time it wasn't intended.
  • Fixed Hades' name not capitalized in Persephone's lore.
  • Pomegranate Seeds
  • Fixed an issue where she shouldn't be able to activate Purification Beads while rising from her passive.

Pomegranate Seeds Pomegranate Seeds

  • Added a more clear description to this ability specifying how it can be canceled.
  • Fixed issues where Kali, Scylla, Achilles, and Thanatos were not properly getting their rewards for killing a god if this passive was used. All of those gods should now get those bonuses upon killing Persephone, before she has the option to continue fighting with her passive.
  • Persephone will now retain her health bar when entering this state so players can more easily keep track of her.

Harvest Harvest

  • Adjusted the plants materials to make distinguishing friendly and enemy Harvest plants more clear.

Grasp of Death Grasp of Death

  • Fixed an issue where enemies would sometimes not be affected by the bind CC, even when hit by it.
  • Fixed an issue where Fafnir Dragonbreath could not break the Entrapping Cage.

General

  • Released.
