  • Passive: Howling Celestial Dog

  • Each time Erlang Shen hits an enemy with a Basic Attack, his dog hits as well for 15% of his Basic Attack power, which trigger items for Basic Attacks at 15% of their normal damage and can Critical Hit.
  • Spot Weakness

  • Erlang Shen opens his third eye and analyzes the enemy's strengths and weaknesses. When activated, Erlang Shen gains additional Physical Damage (+25/40/55/70/85 + 15% of your Physical Power) on each strike and ignores Basic Attack movement penalties for the duration for 5 seconds. While on Cooldown, successful Basic Attacks reduce the Cooldown of this ability. Cost : 60/65/70/75/80. Cooldown 14s.
  • Pin

  • Erlang Shen launches a spear that damages enemies (85/130/175/220/265 + 45% of your Physical Power) on impact. Enemies in the dead center of the effect when it lands are Crippled and Rooted in place for 1.15/1.3/1.45/1.6/1.75 seconds. Cost: 50/55/60/65/70. Cooldown: 12s.
  • 72 Transformations

  • Erlang Shen transforms into a Mink or Turtle and charges forward. Cost: 65/70/75/80/85. Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14s. Mink: Damages all enemies (90/150/210/270/330 + 85% of your Physical Power), stopping on the first god hit and increasing Attack Speed (+15/20/25/30/35%) for 6s. Turtle: Knocks up all enemies in path dealing damage (75/125/175/225/275 +40% of your Physical Power) and gains a health shield (70/110/145/180/215) for 12s.
  • Nine Turns Blessing

  • Erlang Shen Taunts nearby Enemy gods, gaining Damage Mitigation (10/11.25/12.5/13.75/15%) for the next 4s. Afterward, if Erlang Shen is still alive he is healed for a flat amount (150/240/330/420/510) plus 20% of his Maximum Health. Cost: 80/85/90/95/100. Cooldown: 85s.

General

  • Erlang Shen might be able to spot weakness, but given his popularity and strength, we are struggling to find his. With the raw power provided by Spot Weakness he has a variety of build paths and can be difficult to fight effectively. Bringing down the power bringing up his mana cost should be just the touch needed for the SWC.

Spot Weakness Spot Weakness

  • Increase mana cost from 60 to 60/65/70/75/80
  • Decrease base damage from 15/30/45/60/75 to 15/27/39/51/63

General

  • Erlang Shen continues to dominate the game with his strong flex potential and early game aggression. This transforming god simply seems to excel in too many different aspects, so this nerf is being applied to restrict his potential. Erlang Shen will no longer have access to the incredibly powerful haste effect. He will need to choose his Mink form primarily as his damage output option as his Turle form is seeing a large reduction to its base damage, focusing it more toward its escape or setup nature.

72 Transformations 72 Transformations

  • Removed Haste effect from Mink form.
  • Turtle Base Damage decreased from 75/125/175/225/275 to 65/115/155/195/235.

General

  • The Illustrious Sage has resurged in popularity, giving teams a high damage frontliner that doesn't seem to have weak points. We couldn't Spot Weaknesses either and want to focus his ability to dish out damage while being tanky. Spot Weakness provides a large amount of free power that works well with Mink's stim. With a lower amount of Base Power Erlang Shen players will need to choose, Tank or Damage? Olympians pathnotes.png

Spot Weakness Spot Weakness

  • Decreased Base Damage from 25/40/55/70/85 to 15/30/45/60/75.

General

  • Spot Weakness has allowed Erlang Shen to really efficiently build hybrid items to shred his targets. This ability is getting a scaling reduction to bring it more into line when built with this hybrid offensive items.
  • In addition, Turtle Form is a powerful escape and engage tool with its powerful shield and knockup. Turtle Form will move a bit slower, lowering Erlang's overall mobility while trying to be defensive.

Spot Weakness Spot Weakness

  • Decreased Physical Power Scaling from 15% to 10% per basic attack.

72 Transformations 72 Transformations

  • Decreased Turtle Form Bonus Movement Speed from 100% to 75%.

General

  • Erlang's passive adjustment has made him a top pick, especially in the jungle. His natural boxing potential and ability to shred other high HP characters is a great niche for him,
  • but the current numbers allow him to play too well in too many matchups. We are reducing the max health percent damage to tone down his overall damage output.

Howling Celestial Dog Howling Celestial Dog

  • Decreased max health percent damage from 2% to 1% per hit.

General

  • Fixed showing the incorrect Basic Attack formula on the Skill Screen. Should have been 39 + 2 * level instead of 38 + 2 * level.

General

  • With the introduction of Berserker's Shield, Erlang Shen was able to heavily abuse this item and skyrocket in performance. While interesting, the interaction with his dog has become increasingly complicated. Not only does it has special rules surrounding it, those rules cause issues with bringing in items to help Basic Attack Warriors and with existing items like Odyssey Bow. The Passive is being reworked to a more consistent effect that will allow us to create unique items for both him and other Auto Attack characters without needing special rules with each new item.

Howling Celestial Dog Howling Celestial Dog

  • Erlang Shen's dog no longer trigger on hit item passives or a portion of Erlang Shen's damage.
  • Each time Erlang Shen's dog hits a target they will take 2% of the Maximum HP as damage.

General

  • Erlang Shen focuses on chaining down his opponents with basic attacks, using his kit to pin them in place. Spot Weakness really enables this playstyle, but the cost on it was prohibitive, making it difficult to execute. We are reducing the cost of this ability while also making the taunt from 9 Turns Blessing consistent at all ranks. This will help Erlang Shen and his team better play around a consistent duration of CC.

Spot Weakness Spot Weakness

  • Decreased Mana cost from 60/65/70/75/80 to 60 at all ranks.

9 Turns Blessing 9 Turns Blessing

  • Increased Taunt Duration from .8/.9/1/1.1/1.2s to 1.2s at all ranks.

General

  • Erlang Shen has struggled to find a solid identity in Season 5. Death's Toll was a major source of sustain for Erlang Shen, and with its removal he has struggled to compete as a tank, bruiser, or damage dealer. We are increasing the power of his base kit so he can better utilize items to create these playstyles.
  • Increased basic attack progression scaling to match swing time.
  • From 0.65/0.65/0.65/1/.8x to .75/0.75/0.75/1.1/.9x.

Spot Weakness Spot Weakness

  • Increased cooldown reduction per Basic Attack from 0.75s to 1s.

Pin Pin

  • Increased Physical Power Scaling from 45% to 55%.

General

  • Erlang Shen has become the prime solo laner due to his ability to gain early game lane pressure. Mink form did a lot of damage to the entire wave, while also providing a strong Basic Attack Buff that synergizes with his cleave attacks. We reducing both aspects of 72 Transformation's Mink form to allow more Warriors to compete with him at level one.

72 Transformations 72 Transformations

  • Decreased Mink Form Base Damage from 90/150/210/270/330 to 70/130/190/250/310.
  • Decrease Mink Attack Speed and Haste buff from 5s to 4s.

General

  • Erlang Shen had undergone many adjustments to balance the amount of control he brought to a fight with his damage output. As things have settled, Erlang Shen has started to struggle. We are increasing his Base Stats to help him better compete as a Basic Attack-focused Warrior.
  • Increased Base Power from 38 -> 39
  • Increased Attack Speed per Level from .8 -> 1

Pin Pin

  • Updated the description of this ability with the correct radius for this ability

General

  • Erlang Shen's ability to chase and control his opponents has largely contributed to his strength and frustration. While he has to sacrifice a large Cooldown with his Taunt and the flexibility of his Turtle or Mink Charge, Pin crippled and came up fairly often. The Cripple has been removed to give a little more counterplay to his chase potential.

Pin Pin

  • This ability no longer Cripples.

General

  • Erlang Shen has been a strong force in the competitive scene. One of his major strengths has been his ability to be offensive with Spot Weakness and defensive with his Turtle Form and his Ultimate. We are removing some of his free offensive power by removing the “Fatalis” effect from Spot Weakness and moving it to the Mink from on 72 Transformations. Now, the form Erlang Shen chooses will have a bigger impact on his play style.

Spot Weakness Spot Weakness

  • No longer ignores Basic Attack movement penalties.

72 Transformations 72 Transformations

  • Using Mink Form will now allow you to ignore Basic Attack Movement penalties for 5s.
  • Reduced Turtle Shield and Mink Attack Buff durations from 6s -> 5s.

General

  • ErLang Shen's ability to control his opponents with Pin was often too strong, especially once this skill was maxed out early. Pin will now Root and Cripple for 1.3s at all ranks, toning down his mid and late game while also allowing players to have a better understanding of how long the effect will last.

Pin Pin

  • Adjusted Root and Cripple durations from 1.15/1.3/1.45/1.6/1.75 -> 1.3 at all ranks.

General

  • Pin provides Erlang Shen with a powerful tool in both wave clear and teamfight presence. At 12 seconds, Pin was coming up too often and leaving enemy players feeling disadvantaged through most of the fight. By increasing Pin's cooldown to 16 seconds, players should have an easier time finding gaps in Erlang Shen's utility to properly punish him.

Pin Pin

  • Cooldown increased from 12s -> 16s.

General

  • Erlang Shen has found himself in a pretty good spot, and this adjustment is more focused around making sure he feels good to play as and against. 9 Turns Blessing had some audio and visual FX updates to make it more readable, as well as a slight power adjustment to make sure Erlang Shen can still be punished if he heals in a risky position.
  • Fixed an issue where Celestial Dog was not proccing Stone Cutting Sword.

9 Turns Blessing 9 Turns Blessing

  • Improved audio and visual FX for clarity.
  • Healing reduced from 150/240/330/420/510 to 150/225/300/375/450.
  • Scaling reduced from 20% to 15%.

General

  • Added Emotes.
