  • Master of War - Passive

  • Upon giving or receiving hits from basic attacks, Bellona gains +5 protections and +6% movement speed for 5s. (max 5 stacks).
  • Shield Bash

  • Bellona dashes forward and bashes with her shield, dealing 80/120/160/200/240 +40% of her Physical Power as damage and slowing enemies 30% for 2s. Bellona gains 1 stack of block for each enemy god hit. Block absorbs all damage from a single basic attack and reflects 30% of the damage in an area around her. Bellona then makes basic attacks with sword and shield until out of combat, and every 3 successful basic attacks she gains another stack of block (max 3). Cooldown: 15s. Cost: 60.
  • Bludgeon

  • Bellona summons a Hammer and spins, hitting every enemy around her for 30/60/90/120/150 +25% of her Physical Power, and then smashing forward in an overhand attack dealing 70/130/190/250/310 +60% of her Physical Power as Damage. Each enemy god hit in the spin increases the damage of the overhand attack by +30%. Bellona now makes basic attacks with her Hammer until out of combat. Every Hammer attack hits all enemies in melee range. Cooldown: 10. Cost: 60/65/70/75/80.
  • Scourge

  • Bellona summons a Scourge, dealing 60/100/140/180/220 +50% of her Physical Power as damage to all enemies in a line. Enemies hit are Disarmed for 2/2.25/2.5/2.75/3s, and cannot make basic attacks. Bellona now makes basic attacks with a Scourge until out of combat, which has extended range (+4) and every third attack heals Bellona 30/50/70/90/110. Cooldown: 18s. Cost: 70/75/80/85/90.
  • Eagle's Rally

  • Bellona plants a Roman flag, granting 15/20/25/30/35 protections and increased physical power by 10/20/30/40/50 to allied gods for 6/8/10/12/14s. Enemies directly under where the flag is placed take 100/200/300/400/500 +50% of her Physical Power as damage and are stunned for 1s.

General

  • The time has come for the glory of Rome to be restored. Bellona is often a difficult character to buff, as she always seems one step away from taking over the solo meta. After some direct nerfs and losing many of her core items, its looking quite safe to buff her again. We are focusing heavily on QoL with these buffs, adding a lot more fluid functionality to her kit, and adding some power to the parts of her kit that feel clearly lacking, like the flag left behind on Eagle’s Rally.
  • Fixed an issue where the Defiant skin would play default audio

  • If Bellona is mid-swing when this timer expires, she will complete the swing with her Weapon. If this hits a target, she will reset the timer and not swap back to her Base weapon.

General

  • The goddess of war is notoriously tricky to buff, being able to quickly overtake a meta when even slightly too strong. With this in mind we looked to make changes to Bellona to improve her flexibility. Her mana costs often interfere with her ability to swap to the right weapon for the correct situation. This change will help her box without pushing her to be too intense.

  • Bellona has been the SPL match to Achilles, rising in popularity. She however hasn't seen as significant of a Ban Rate increase in the way Achilles has. We are reducing her early game self sustain slightly as a slight adjustment and will continue to watch her performance to see if further adjustments are necessary.

  • Master of War gives Bellona an additional edge in combat when she is actively fighting. We want to increase its effectiveness, giving her a slight bump to her tankiness at all stages of the game.

  • Oh how the mighty have fallen. Bellona has had a long history of nerfs and it seems the goddess has finally fallen out of favor.
  • She struggled through the entirely of Season 5. Many warriors did but some more than others. Even with the addition of Berserker's Shield we didn't see much of a resurgence from her.
  • In addition to the Base Warrior stat buff, She is gaining a boost to her early game Ultimate damage. This will help Bellona make early aggressive rotations and plays more successfully.

  • Increased Base Damage from 100/200/300/400/500 to 140/230/320/410/500.

General

  • Bellona has become a very popular pick this Season, with a win-rate in competitive to back up this popularity.
  • We are focusing on bringing her early clear and fighting potential to a more counterable level.
  • With a base power reduction, Bellona will need to invest more time into clearing a Minion wave. This change more drastically affects her Hammer Basic Attacks since the first and last hit increase Damage by 1.5x. In addition, we are reducing the frequency she can Bludgeon early on.
  • Gods that can Silence or Disrupt this Ability will see a better reward for doing so as Bellona will not be able to get the Ability again before their interrupt comes off Cooldown for the first few waves.
  • It is also worth noting that Osiris is not receiving an adjustment this patch. While he was THE popular pick in competitive alongside Bellona, he did not have the same record as Bellona did while also having poor performance across other levels of play.
  • Osiris is often a pro-favorite, but even after his recent buffs he still struggles outside of the competitive scene. We will continue to watch him closely before making any specific adjustments.
  • Reduce Base Power from 39 -> 36.

  • Bellona brings the weapon of her choice to the battlefield. In her early laning phase, she usually is using Bludgeon or Scourge, however, Bludgeon overshadowed Scourge even in unfavorable matchups. With this change, the two abilities should be closer to each other in strength, rewarding Bellona players who pick the right weapon for the right situation.

  • Increased Base Damage from 60/100/140/180/220 -> 80/115/150/185/220.

General

  • Bellona has had a strong showing through most of Season 2, and felt that this was a good time to look at her more closely for an adjustment. It is important to remember that we will be monitoring these changes closely, especially since many items Bellona relied on have seen large scale changes. As with all gods affected by item changes, we will keep a close eye and adjust accordingly.

  • Bellona's kit has many strengths, and in this patch we wanted to hit key points where we felt this strength was too much. The Slow granted from Shield Bash was too potent for a single point investment, and late game Eagle's Rally was coming up too often. This should allow for more counterplay at both early and late game stages.
